We are very happy this year as the Tour de France is not only coming to Britain for the opening three stages of the 101st edition of the world’s most demanding bike race, but it is also passing by locally for us too! This Saturday Leeds will mark the beginning of the 101st Tour de France, where 22 teams from across the world will cycle a staggering ‘pedal to the metal’ 3,656km to reach the finish line in Paris! The 22 teams will have to make their way across 21 stages featuring flat to the more extreme mountainous terrain.
Stage 3 of the Tour de France will see the cyclists making their way from Cambridge to London over 159km, in which they will cycle past us! In the hope of cheering on Team Sky and in true old British fashion, we will also be having a fancy dress day at work, so if you see a random amount of French looking people on tv – that could be us! 😉
MerlinCycles have put together a visual companion of this year’s 2014 Tour de France to give you an overview of what to expect, we loved this so much we’ve shared it with you all too!
Are you a fan of the Tour de France? Lucky enough to spectate in the past? Don’t think you could cycle more than 5 miles? Then let us know in the comments below 🙂
