2016: The Year to Travel

2016. It’s the year to see more, explore more and travel more. We are kick starting 2016 off with an abundance of travel inspiration to encourage you to travel the world and #JustSayYes. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in ordinary life, have commitments and even bigger ‘one day I’ll do that’ promises you tell yourself.

We have learnt that even with a career and commitments you are still able to freely travel. So this year, is your year to push open that door and travel more by just saying yes. We saw an advert that caught our eye and got us thinking.. What would it take to make you say yes to when it comes to travel? What makes your inner wanderlust scream out Yes!

Discover Thailand’s Film-Set Scenery

No matter where you go, Thailand beams an irresistible aurora from its beautiful natural beaches, friendly folk to its Buddhist temples and delicious dishes. It’s hardly surprising why Thailand is known as the Land of smiles. Having become a hotspot for tourists over recent years, now is a great time to just say yes and visit Thailand’s treasures for yourselves.

Hang Out With Elephants In Sri Lanka

If sunny white sand beaches don’t interest you, then we’re banking on some Sri Lankan elephants to capture your heart. It so happens that taking an elephant selfie has become a trend that easily sits alongside Sri Lankan holiday essentials including getting a tan and eating a lot of curry.

Whether you’re a fan of the elephants or not, Sri Lanka is famous for its trunked mammal population boasting more than 5000 in the country. If you’re looking for an up close encounter you’ll be glad to know you can spy on them to your heart’s content in their natural habitats at the Minneriya National Park. If that’s not enough, head to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage where you can get up close and help make a difference.

Experience India’s Best Bits On A Holiday To Goa

If you’ve always wanted to go to India but never quite got round to it, then there’s no time better than the present. Say yes to Goa and turn that ‘one day’ into today. Goa is a fantastic place to scratch your travel dreams as the west coast of India boasts bright markets, back to back beaches and some of India’s bucket list sights from the Taj Mahal to Vijayanagar; that once was the most powerful kingdom in the whole of India.

Roam The Rainforest In Costa Rica

Costa Rica translates to mean, the Rich Coast and this name has been given for a very good reason. Here’s your chance to say yes and explore the multitude of rainforests, volcanoes and mountains in this small wildlife central country. If you fancy something a little different to the norm, but just as, if not more exhilarating, Costa Rica should be on your travel list for 2016. Discover tropical creatures from the Toucan, red-eyed tree frogs to monkeys and hummingbirds. The Costa Rican rainforests has it all, in abundance.

Climb Dunn’s River Falls In Style In Jamaica

It’s not every day you can wake up and decide to climb a waterfall.. well unless you’re in Jamaica that is. Flowing straight into the Caribbean Sea from 600 feet high, the Dunn’s River falls is one of Jamaica’s biggest natural attractions. Those who are looking for more excitement can climb up the waterfall and combine with a trip with about a million other of Jamaica’s biggest attractions.

#JustSayYes Inspiration

The video had originally inspired our minds to write this blog post, as to what would make us jump out of our usual day-to-day lives to do something wild, crazy.. run into the unknown by listening to your inner wanderlust saying yes. The advert begins with a lady queuing up to buy flowers at a market before being lured away by the sight and sounds of an ice cream van. Mesmerised by the tune, the woman heads off pied piper style in pursuit of the van by stealing a cyclists bike and sets off through the country roads in chase. Ending up by jumping into a lake where she follows her instinct to re-emerge from the water, but this time in a foreign country with her desire for ice cream achieved.

It’s a very clever advert to make you follow your soul to travel, where it ends up explaining you can get anything your heart desires by going all inclusive. Whether you’d ever travel all inclusive or not, it’s a very convincing message and certainly inspired us to discover what would make / has made you say yes to travel?

Costa Rica is definitely on my list, maybe not this year, since I’ll have to fly from Europe, but in 2017 I’m definitely booking some tickets there. It’s a small country with a lot of things to see, so maybe a week of travel would do me good.

For this year, the plans are simple: Prague, Rome, Bruges and a nice resort near casablanca.
